Swahili language is mainly spoken in the Eastern and Central parts of the African continent in countries like Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Central Republic of Congo, Congo, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Uganda and Burundi.

Countries where Swahili is common

It is the commonest language that unites most armies found in East and Central Africa. This tremendously helps in the peace keeping processes that take place in that part of Africa. This is because the unity among the armies from different countries is easily forged because of a language common to all of them, which is Swahili. It should be noted that the countries in East Africa for example do not have the same official languages. Their official languages include; English, French and Swahili languages.

An example is of the AMISOM troops that operate in Somalia fighting a terror group known as the Al-Shabab so as to try and stabilize the Somali nation. Communication in this army is usually also don in the Swahili language. So should we say that Swahili as a language has an important role in keeping peace in Africa?

Swahili fosters business fast business growth in the countries where it is spoken. This is because it is a common language shared by many people from Central and East Africa who speak different mother tongues but find common ground with Swahili for reasons like business matters. Therefore, if anyone is willing to start up business in East and Central Africa, then they should consider using the Swahili language as a marketing tool.

Is Kiswahili Translation Necessary?

Business people interested in making business investments in Africa should consider Swahili translations for their business proposals, marketing material and legal documents, to mention a few into the Swahili language. This would ensure that the intended audience is communicated to in a language they are well familiar with.

This is also a guarantee of widening the market and audience for a particular business. With the Swahili language, the message can get across both Central and East Africa.

It should be noted that Swahili fosters unity among cultures too because it is derived from a mixture of languages and cultures both in Africa and other regions across the Indian Ocean.
